Provides transportation to individuals with disabilities, including high school students, to work sites and community activities. Operates a mini-bus seating 14 passengers (no CDL required) safely and efficiently. Other duties as assigned.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including the safe operation of the assigned vehicle.
Able to read route sheet and simple instructions.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE MINI BUS DRIVER AT VPI:
Navigates and drives the assigned bus routes with and without client passengers.
Completes driver logs to record passengers, time and mileage.
Perform bus safety inspections at the start and end of each shift.
Monitors gasoline usage and fills the bus with gas.
Works collaboratively with VPI staff to create and manage routes and transportation needs.
Reports any bus needs to VPI leadership.
