Minibus Driver (No CDL Required)

Provides transportation to individuals with disabilities, including high school students, and other program participants to work sites and community activities. Operates a mini-bus seating 14 passengers (no CDL required) safely and efficiently. Other duties as assigned.


1. Navigate and drive the assigned bus routes with and without client passengers.

2. Complete driver logs to record passengers, time, and mileage.

3. Perform bus safety inspections at the start and end of each shift.

4. Monitor gasoline usage and fill the bus with gas.

5. Work collaboratively with VPI staff to create and manage routes and transportation needs.

6. Report any bus needs to VPI leadership.

7. Operate the bus wheelchair lift as needed.


Functions are considered within the sedentary range according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Work duties include the ability to sit, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, and to lift a maximum of ten (10) pounds without assistance.


Normally works in a climate-controlled vehicle. Frequent sitting with movement throughout the bus. May be exposed to heat and cold temperatures, as this role requires the individual to assist clients on and off the bus.


1. Valid driver’s license.

2. Clean driving record.

3. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including the safe operation of the assigned vehicle.

4. Able to read route sheets and simple instructions.

5. Effective verbal and written communication skills.

6. Experience providing services to individuals with disabilities is preferred.

HOURS: Minimum of 8 hours per week.

PAY: $15.00-$19.00
