Team Lead – Skills for Work

Coordinates the daily activities of the Skills for Work Programs at the different sites. Coordinates services with school districts and local funders. Manages referrals, student intern progress, and provides support to the Workforce Solutions Team to ensure that students are successful in programming. Maintains professional relationships with sites and develops partnerships for increased capacity. Performs other duties as required. 


  1. Coordinates all aspects of the Skills for Work programs including intakes, classes, job shadows, internship rotations, assessments, billing, recruitment, and scheduling.
  2. Assists by being on-site at each location throughout the week to ensure that support is provided to students, VPI staff, and site supervisors.
  3. Prepares and coordinates reports and assessments to use internally and externally to partners. 
  4. Maintains accurate records in CRM, including referral tracking, updating student information, and completing other reports as needed for documentation. 
  5. Provides follow-up contacts, as well as consultation and support to employers, to help ensure the success of the participant’s placement.
  6. Professionally communicates with guardians, parents, supervisors, funders, and other partners (or other VPI staff) to facilitate mutual program planning.
  7. Collaborates with multiple organizations, develops new relationships with partners, and maintains existing relationships to promote capacity for programming.


Functions are considered light to moderate according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Work performed includes the ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling), and lift to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance.


Normally works in a climate-controlled office environment. Frequent sitting with movement throughout office spaces. Use of computers throughout work. Frequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrist, and fingers.


  1. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities
  2. Bachelor’s degree in human service or related field or equivalent. – preferred
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Demonstrated common sense, judgment, and communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  5. Demonstrated leadership skills.

Salary: $43,000 – $45,000
