COMING SOON! Community-Based Pre-Vocational Services

Based 100% in our Fox Cities community, Community-Based Pre-Vocational Services provide individuals a chance to build on their work skills using our community as a campus. Activities are person-centered with participants taking an active role in planning their programming. Daily activities include volunteering, employability skills classes, job tours and work-related field trips, and fitness activities to build work stamina. We are now accepting referrals for this program.

Employment Placement

Individualized program where you can work one-on-one with an Employment Specialist to develop resumes, complete mock interviews, and work on job applications. Employment Specialists connect with local employers to make a good job match for both the client and the employer.

Group Supported Employment

Individuals receive continued employment support and training from VPI on-site at a community employer. This allows for individuals to work in an inclusive community setting, but still have access to the valuable benefits of VPI on-site staff support and case management services. Current group supported employment sites include TreeHouse Foods (formerly Sturm Foods) in Manawa, WI, the VPI Riverside Café at the Neenah-Menasha YMCA, Miller Electric, and Creative Converting in Clintonville, WI. Transportation to and from TreeHouse Foods is available for individuals living within Waupaca County.

Inclusion Clothing Company

Inclusion Clothing Co. is a comprehensive training program to help individuals build skills related to the apparel industry and jobs in order fulfillment. Tasks learned include inventory management, order fulfillment, heat press operation, garment decoration, shipping, and receiving. This program is hosted at our Kensington Production Facility.

Individual Placement and Support (IPS)

An evidence-based model of supported employment for individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorders find and maintain community employment. These employment services are integrated with mental health treatment and the supports provided to clients are individualized and time unlimited. Employment Specialists connect with local employers to make a good job match for both the client and the employer. Open to individuals receiving Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) and/or Community Support Program (CSP) services in Calumet, Fond du Lac, and Outagamie counties.

Pre-Employment Services

Pre-Employment and Exploration provides people with disabilities work experiences, hands-on training and support to overcome barriers and learn employability skills. The primary focus of this program addresses the specific employment barriers and skills of each client that will lead them to their highest level of independence and employability. The program is tailored to meet the individual’s needs and can be provided as an inclusive facility-based program, community-based program, or a combination of both. The hands-on work experience and support provided at our Kensington Production Facility, along with community activities, clubs and classes are designed to enhance the employability skills of every individual. All individuals participating in the Pre-Employment Services program are paid at least minimum wage. Transportation to and from our Kensington Production Facility is available for those who live within Waupaca County.

Riverside Café at the Neenah-Menasha YMCA

VPI’s Riverside Café at the Neenah-Menasha YMCA provides individuals the opportunity to train for retail and restaurant work in a community setting. This program is a stepping stone for individuals interested in community employment, who would benefit from a structured and supportive setting, while working on increasing strengths, improving skill sets, and decreasing barriers to employment.

School District Transition Services

Individualized program where students work one-on-one with an Employment Specialist for career exploration and to develop resumes, complete mock interviews, and work on job applications. Employment Specialists connect with local employers to make a good job match for both the client and the employer. This program supports both volunteer work and community employment. Open to Appleton Area School District and Neenah Joint School District students.

School-to-Work Services: Manufacturing

School-to-Work Services: Manufacturing provides high school students age 16 and older with individualized paid work experiences, hands-on training, and coaching to learn employability skills and entry level manufacturing skills. Types of manufacturing skills that can be learned in this environment include: good manufacturing processes, safety in a manufacturing environment, counting, problem solving, quality, inventory, and working with equipment (shrink wrap tunnels, conveyors, pallet wrappers, cartoning machines, scanners, forklifts, pallet jacks, banders, and others). This program is offered at VPI’s Kensington Production Facility.

Workforce Solutions

The Workforce Solutions Team provides on-the-job employment mentoring, including modeling, guidance, tools and strategies, to increase inclusion and independence for individuals who experience barriers to competitive employment. VPI also offers the Partners with Business model to employees and employers.
