Stories of Success: Landen

With our clients, we encourage getting involved in the community and learning more about ourselves. This month, we’d like to celebrate Landen’s success! Landen was a Project Search graduate from 2022 who was anxious to get a job. Within a year, Landen found a career he wanted to pursue!

During a community inclusion outing, Landen was allowed to work at Popeye’s in Appleton thanks to the connection made between Matt Busch, Community Inclusion Manager, and Eric, Popeye’s Manager. The most significant experiences in life are created, nurtured, and put in motion by participants during our Community Inclusion Outings. Participants learn about the entirety of the community, from social opportunities to professional chances. By organizing this expedition, connections were created that opened up numerous opportunities for VPI and provided Landen with the chance to work.

By implementing various interventions and prompting tactics that encourage respect, dignity, and inclusion, Landen’s Community Employment Mentors have been essential in ensuring that Landen is developing independence and achieving successful work results. Eric found tasks at Popeye’s that didn’t involve interacting with customers and Landen’s skill set made these tasks ideal for him. His duties include labeling kitchen baggies, wiping the tables, and maintaining the grounds.

Landen continues to work hard, but this would not have been possible without Community Inclusion Outings. At VPI, we are putting in the time and effort to assist our clients to make these success stories possible.

A big congratulations to Landen for his huge success!
