On January 2nd, Justin K. became our New Year’s success story!
Justin was awarded a VPI Al Briggs award for his hard work and amazing progress accomplished in one of our 8 employment service programs, Pre-Employment and Exploration. Joining our Pre-Employment and Exploration program just last year, he initially showed a very quiet and reserved demeanor, avoiding any eye contact during conversations. Wanting to improve his skills, Justin took one of VPI’s employment skills classes where he learned about soft skills. This marked a turning point for Justin. As a part of the class, he went through a six-week internship at Dunkin’. Not only did Justin excel here, but he turned into a direct hire!
Today, Justin is flourishing at Dunkin’, confidently talking and interacting with others, and spreading smiles! His journey stands as both an inspiring success story and a valuable addition to the overall impact of VPI. To be honored with an Al Briggs award, like Justin, clients undergo consideration based on various criteria, including goal achievement, active effort, positive attitude, involvement, adherence to rules and policies, teamwork, and the ability to overcome challenges. We are glad to say that Justin was the perfect recipient for this award and we couldn’t be more proud of him for how far he has come!
