APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Valley Packaging Industries held their second annual ‘Tossing for Inclusion’ fundraiser in Appleton on Thursday, as the community gathered at GameDay Sports Bar for a cornhole tournament.

The event featured inclusivity, allowing anybody to participate. According to a release, VPI believes that it’s important to create a space where people can compete and socialize as peers, regardless of their abilities.

Anybody and everybody in attendance was encouraged to participate, as the tournament was played in a round-robin style between teams. VPI, Inc. president and CEO Tim Riebau expressed the joy of inclusion ahead of the event.

“We are so excited about year two of Tossing for Inclusion,” Riebau said. “It’s fun, competitive, and inclusive, which aligns perfectly with our mission and the intent of the event.” The event ran from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., and inclusion was the key element of the event.

“We wanted to include the people that we serve as part of the fundraiser to get them involved with the community members,” Riebau said. “All of the money we make will go towards our various programs.”
